Shipping & Delivery

At GODIVA, we put as much care into the delivery of your chocolates as we do creating them, which is why dispatch times are designed to ensure they always arrive in pristine condition. Depending on your location, we have four (4) delivery options to choose from. Please visit our shipping page for more information.

  • Australia Post (Standard and Expresss). Australia-wide. Standard shipping is only used during winter months, VIC and NSW.
  • Same Day Delivery (selected postcodes in VIC and NSW).
  • Click & Collect (VIC only currently).

GODIVA is not responsible if the wrong delivery address is provided at checkout and the package is delivered to the wrong and/or unknown recipient.

If the address is undeliverable or the package is unclaimed, Godiva Australia does not offer refunds even if the package is returned.

There are a few reasons an order can be returned to sender, but most often it is due to an incorrect address or if parcel has been left unattended at your local post office after attempted delivery. We are not responsible if your parcel is returned to us due to issues outside of our control.

New shipping charges will be invoiced for orders that had an incorrect address originally provided or if the parcel was not collected within the delivery reasonable timeframe.

We currently offer shipping to New Zealand.

Because of the delicate nature of GODIVA chocolates, we don’t risk shipping them outside Australia. Of course, as Belgium’s Royal chocolatier, our products are available the world over.

The perfect GODIVA experience is always our priority. If the weather is warm, your order will be neatly packaged and delivered in special ice packs. If we are concerned about extreme heat causing damage to your order (and it won’t be everything you dreamed of), we will contact you to arrange an alternate delivery date.

Gift cards

You can use gift cards you've purchased instore or online to purchase gifts online.

When redeeming your gift card online, enter the voucher code at checkout, and the value of the voucher will be deducted from your order total. If the value of your gift card is higher than the value of your order, you can use the remaining balance for future purchases.

Gift cards can be redeemed both online and in GODIVA stores in Australia.

You gift card is valid for 3 years from the date of purchase. Your gift card will have the date on it if you purchased it instore, or you can contact our customer service to confirm your purchase and expiry date.

Misplaced gift cards cannot be replaced or refunded. Please treat your gift card like cash or a document of monetary value.

Allergy Information

If you have a dairy allergy, it’s best you don’t consume GODIVA products.

Due to the wide range of world-class ingredients that go into all our beautifully crafted chocolates, all our products may contain traces of nuts and/or peanuts. If you have a nut allergy, it’s recommended you don’t consume GODIVA chocolate.

As we work with so many different ingredients, we can’t guarantee our products don’t contain any gluten. If you have a gluten allergy, it’s best you don’t consume GODIVA chocolate.

Most of our carefully considered chocolates and other GODIVA products are dairy-based. Because of this, majority of them are not vegan friendly.

To ensure our products are only ever delivered and presented to you as fresh as possible, we are unable to accept an exchange or return due to change of mind (or heart).

Unfortunately, we do not offer returns on chocolate, unopened or unused, and do not offer exchanges online. This is due to food safety practices and making sure we always provide customers with the best of GODIVA.

Likewise, we do not accept returns or refunds for GODIVA purchases bought in-store.

If we have provided you with a refund and request the product shipped back, please note shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable.

We will notify you once your return has been received and approved. The refund will be processed to the original method of payment. We recommend using a tracked service to return the goods as all transport risk is borne by the sender.

If getting in touch about a return, please include your order number and product details in the email.

Here at GODIVA, we’re total perfectionists and it shows. However, if you do have an issue with your order, please contact us within five working days. If it’s our mistake, we’ll be sure to have a solution as soon as humanly possible. However, we’re not responsible for faults resulting from environmental factors outside of our control.

If you received the incorrect GODIVA product, please contact us within five working days and we’ll make sure you get exactly what you ordered.

Care & Storage

To bring your chocolates back to ideal melt-in-your-mouth temperature, keep them in plastic bags until the entire package comes to room temperature. This will take approximately two hours if stored in the refrigerator, and six hours if stored in the freezer.

We’ve spent years mastering the art of preservation. Your GODIVA chocolate should be enjoyed before it reaches its best-before-date.

You can find a best-before-date on each packaging of chocolate. All products ordered and delivered via online will have a minimum 2 weeks shelf life. We do not offer refunds for chocolate that is approaching its best-before-date, especially if this is marked on the product page at time of purchase.

Once opened, all our chocolates are designed to be blissfully devoured within two weeks, if stored below 18°C.

Here are a few ways keep your GODIVA products in wonderful condition: 

  • Nothing ruins great chocolate faster than heat—avoid humidity and direct sunlight.
  • For freshness of unopened products, please check the best before date.
  • Never leave your handcrafted chocolates in the car.
  • And please, don’t store your chocolate near odours.

Nothing compares to creating your own rich and chocolatey cup of goodness. Here’s the time-tested secret to the best homemade GODIVA Hot Cocoa.

Stovetop instructions:

Pour 1 cup (250ml) of milk into a saucepan. Heat over low heat until milk is hot (careful not to boil). Gently pour your hot milk into a cup or mug. Carefully stir in 3 tablespoons of GODIVA Cocoa (if you like it rich, add a little more). Sit back, sip and enjoy.

Microwave instructions:

Pour 1 cup (250ml) of milk into a microwave safe mug or cup. Microwave on high for 1½ to 2 minutes or until hot. Carefully stir in 3 tablespoons of GODIVA Cocoa (if you like it rich, add a little more). Sit back, sip and enjoy.
